Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a therapeutic technique based on the traditional Asian theory of life energy, or Qi (chee), which flows through the body along specific channels, called meridians. According to traditional Chinese medicine, imbalance in the flow of Qi is responsible for or contributes to a wide variety of medical conditions, which can therefore be treated by restoring this balance.

How does Acupuncture work?
The Acupuncturist inserts needles into specific points along the meridian called acupoints – most of which are located in the hands, feet, and ears – in order to stimulate the flow of Qi along that meridian.
Does Acupuncture hurt?
No, getting acupuncture does not hurt. Occasionally, during needle insertion, the patient may feel some cramping, heaviness, distention, tingling, or an electric sensation around the needle or along the affected meridian. After the needles are in, however, the patient most often feels relaxed and may even fall asleep.
How many treatments will I need?
That depends on the type of condition that is being treated. Usually after three to four treatments, it becomes obvious whether acupuncture has had a positive effect on the patient.
